Why Filtered Water ?

Our tap water may not be as good as we may like it to be.  Our nation's river, catchments and reservoir systems are under dire stress due to drought, climatic changes and alarming levels of salinity. While the water emanate from the treatment plants generally conforms to applicable quality guidelines, the water then passes through hundreds of kilometer of ageing pipes before it reaches the kitchen tap. En route to the home there are many factors that may impair the taste, smell, clarity or quality. So we can no longer take our drinking water for granted.

Contamination can occur through industrial and agricultural chemicals and other environmental waste. En route from the treatment plant to your tap, the water may absorb impurities. The use of chlorine as a disinfectant not only causes a pungent taste and smell, but there is growing concern about the long-term health implications.

All these factors affect the hygienic quality, as well as the taste, odor and clarity of the water you drink and use in food and beverage preparation.

Why do you need clean water free of virus, bacteria and chlorine for bathing and swimming pool, not only for drinking water?

Assessments of drinking water safety rely on the assumption that ingestion represents the principal route of exposure. A review of the experimental literature revealed that skin penetration rates for solvents are remarkably high, and that the stratum corneum is a less effective barrier to penetration than traditionally assumed. Based on published skin absorption rates, Fick's law (Jos = Kop delta Cos) was used to determine permeability constants for selected compounds. Dose per kilogram was then calculated for nine different exposure situations and compared this to the oral dose per kilogram. The skin absorption was found out to contribute from 29-91 per cent of the total dose, averaging 64 per cent. See below table for details:



Many people thought that most of the water borne disease were caused by the drinking water we consumed, but the above research has shown that our skin absorption rate which is double than oral ingestion is possibly one of the main cause.

This also show that chlorine will enter our body during bathing through skin absorption and will cause chlorine related health problem.
